The day started in the Magic Kingdom. But the lines! Everyone was starting their day here apparently.
First ride of the day was the monorail to get over to the park.
And to start the day for the parents, we get...
Coffee!
Being so crowded we planned our day around the rides that swallow a lot of people without having to wait around too long.
Rides like Mickey's Philharmagic.
And other rides like the Carrousel.
Trying to make our way over to the next ride and the pathways were gridlocked. It's difficult to fathom this many people being here at once.
Earlier I had grabbed Fastpasses for Splash Mountain, which is one of Ian's favorite rides back home. The logs here are a little different though with everyone sitting side by side plus the addition of lapbars. Ian insisted on sitting in the front.
Please don't throw me in that briar patch.
Thankfully we made it out of the briar patch unscathed too.

Wet but not soaked.
Our next people swallowing ride was over in Tomorrowland. It's a classic that I still enjoy. The Carousel of Progress! Hi Alli and Pop Pop!
And hi Ian.
"There's a great big beautiful tomorrow" is another song we sing with the kids at night. They sang along with the ride and we rotated around.
One more ride on Peter Pan before we're done here for the day.
Off to the monorail and then the tram to head back to the car. Time for our next adventure!
I've wanted to come here for a while ever since I heard about one particular item on their menu. After checking for weeks to get reservations, I finally found a time for enough people that would work.
That's what we're after. The Kitchen Sink!
Come to think of it, maybe ordering a meal before tackling it wasn't such a good idea...
The kids were really happy with their mouse sundaes.
Suddenly the lights went dim, a siren sounded and another light started flashing. It was time!
Introducing the one, the only, the original kitchen sink! 8 scoops of ice cream, all the toppings in the house, and a whole can of whipped cream. A whole can!
The kids were quick to abandon their tiny sundaes and happy to dig into the kitchen sink.
So, what's inside? Quite a bit. According to the Disney Parks Blog, it starts with:
- 8 scoops of ice cream (2 vanilla, 2 chocolate, 2 strawberry, 1 mint chocolate, 1 coffee)
- 1 medium banana
- 1 angel food cake, 1 cinnamon spice cake, 1 brownie, 4 Oreos, 1 candy bar
- 1/2 cup each of Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, Peanut Butter topping
- 1/4 cup each of marshmallow creme, strawberry topping, pineapple topping
- 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 1 tablespoon each of slivered almonds, chocolate shavings, crushed oreos, chopped jellied orange slices, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles
- Top it with 1/2 cup of maraschino cherries and then
- A whole can of whipped cream!
I've seen posts asking how many calories are in the whole thing. Everyone seems to reference the MyFitnessPal site that indicates 21640 calories. That can't possibly be right. Figuring it out for myself, based on the ingredient list above and generic ingredients, I come up with 5848 calories. A ton to be sure, but not the daily allowance for 10 people.
With a ladle and a bunch of smaller bowls, everyone at the table managed to finish it off. Extra credit goes to myself and Jacob for powering through it even after it turned into ice cream soup.
Was it an experience? Yes! Would I do it again? Probably nnnnn.... wait, there's a chocolate version?
For our accomplishment, we received a menu, signed by the staff.
Now that we're all stuffed with ice cream, we need to take a walk. It's just over a mile walk from here to Hollywood Studios, and there's one more thing we're got to do.
First we joined the crowd in front of the Chinese Theater to watch the Disney Movie Magic fireworks and projections.
It's a pretty cool use of the building, especially because of the projection mapping. I liked the Indiana Jones part especially.
Next it was time for what we're really here for. The Jingle Jam, Jingle BAM! It features the Prep and Landing Elves and we really enjoy seeing them every holiday season.

It's snowing!
After watching all the Christmas projections, Ian was wondering when we were going to see Oogie Boogie. Back home, the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay has ruined him, so now he really does consider those guys to be more Christmas than Halloween.
And there he it! It's Oogie's turn!
It was a fun show and a great end to our night.
Afterwards Ian tried to pick up the snow that was still on the ground.
I was still feeling that dessert, so the mile walk back to the car was a good thing.
Despite the crowds, we had a fun time this weekend!
