Belmont Shore Stroll and Savor

On July 19th, Theresa, Rita and I joined Jacob down in Long Beach for the Belmont Shore Stroll and Savor.  We did this last year as well, and it just so happened that Rita was visiting then too.

From the Stroll and Savor website:
A "taste of Belmont Shore", Stroll & Savor is one of the most popular events on 2nd St.  Savor delicious cuisine from over 30 restaurants and specialty food merchants.
It's a great way to try a lot of different kinds of food without ordering a whole meal.

We just so happened to park right by one of my favorite spots from last year.  It's a lemon gelato with balsamic vinegar on top of it.  Mmm.
And just down the block, it's one of Jacob's favorite places.  A cupcake shop that has red velvet cupcakes and salted caramel cupcakes.

We tried some chicken tortilla soup.

And I had what would be the first of three different pizza slices.

Pasta with sausage

The chicken and pork tacos were really tasty.

Pad Thai

An Indian place with Nan bread, chicken, and some curry dish.

The second of my pizza slices.

Running out of hands!

Regrettably the grossest thing we had.  A macaroni and cheese with bacon.  The flavor was just really off with this one.  And the noodles were cooked to mush.  It was so bad, Jacob and I threw it away after a couple bites.

Mini pork slider

Some Greek food.  I don't remember what was so funny.  Maybe it was the orange blossom water they gave you that Rita said tasted like you were drinking perfume.

Yummy strawberry lemonade and a spicy pork link.

Bruschetta was a favorite of Theresa's last time.  I think it was this time too.

My 3rd slice of pizza for the night.

And Jacob got some crab wontons

After we had made the complete round, we still have ~15 tickets left.  So what do we do with them?  Why back to the cupcake shop of course!
There was a line for it now that was probably 40 people deep.  When we got to the front, I ordered 4 cupcakes and the lady behind us said, "Oh my!."  Then Theresa got 4, and again, "Oh my!"  When Rita and Jacob both got 4 as well, she said "Oh no! They're taking all the cupcakes!"  There were plenty more in the back though, and there was no reason to be worried.
We didn't eat them all right there by the way.  We saved them for later.

In the end, we all came away stuffed with lots of tasty treats.  It was a really good time!
